Pete Geren, secretary of Army, does not want to increase the length of troop deployments. Well, it’s about time someone starts talking sense! Current deployments are lasting up to 15 months, and this has a huge negative effect on the troops’ families and mental health. Geren wants to decrease the lengths of deployments back to their original length of twelve months.
