Bush is desperate to find some reason for people to approve of his presidency, so now he’s saying that the budget deficit is shrinking. It may very well be, but that doesn’t get rid of the fact that when he came into office in 2001, the US had a budget SURPLUS. Surplus, people. Not only is the “war on terror†costing the US thousands of lives, it’s costing us billions of dollars, too.
