The House recently approved legislation to bring the Iraq Study Group back. This would mean that there would be an independent assessment on the war rather than the administration’s progress report that is due in September. I don’t know why the House thinks this will help, though. Last year the Iraq Study Group said that Bush should change course on the war in Iraq, but he pretty much ignored all of their recommendations. What makes the House think it will be any different this time?
